World's largest plane completes a successful first flight

Eight years in the making

What just happened? The Stratolaunch is a gigantic aircraft designed to carry rockets into the stratosphere and yesterday it completed its first flight. Lasting 150 minutes, the 385 ft wide plane reached a maximum speed of 189 mph and a height of 16,000 ft without a hitch, performing smoothly and just as expected.

The Stratolaunch is 385 ft (117m) wide, 238 ft (73m) long and 50 ft (15m) tall. It weighs 500,000 pounds (250 tons) empty, but full of fuel and with a rocket payload, it can weigh as much as 1,300,000 pounds (650 tons). To push all that weight, it uses two fuselages each with three Boeing 747 engines attached that can take it up to 35,000 ft and 2,000 nautical miles (3,704km).
“It was an emotional moment for me, personally, to watch this majestic bird take flight,” Stratolaunch’s CEO Jean Floyd said during a press call. "All of you have been very patient and very tolerant over the years waiting for us to get this big bird off the ground, and we finally did it.”
The Stratolaunch is the furthest into the development of future rocket bearing aircraft, but it isn’t alone. There’s great demand for a way to launch rockets more cheaply and from more locations, and gigantic aircraft are reusable (unlike many rockets), can take off from most large airports and their flights are less weather dependent

Stratolaunch was formerly partnered with SpaceX, but the latter ended that partnership to focus on launching their reusable rockets. Stratolaunch has now made a deal with Northrop Grumman to launch their Pegasus rockets, the first privately developed rocket and the first to use an aircraft to launch it. However, at 29 the Pegasus is starting to show its age.
While the flight was a proud moment for Stratolaunch, it was bittersweet for the many engineers that wished Microsoft and Stratolaunch founder Paul Allen could have celebrated the success. Allen passed away last October from non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. "Even though he wasn't there today, as the plane lifted gracefully from the runway, I did whisper a 'thank you' to Paul for allowing me to be a part of this remarkable achievement," Floyd said.
While the flight was a success in every measure, there’s still a long road ahead. When asked, Stratolaunch employees couldn’t pin down a schedule for future flights and couldn’t guess when the first commercial operation might take place.

10 FAMOUS WEBSITES BUILT WITH REACT JS The React JS library has grown in popularity over the years. Based on MVC architecture, it provides developers with the ability to create dynamic web page templates (e.g., pages with an extensive amount of interactive elements on them). That’s one of the major reasons that so many popular web resources are based on React JS. Let’s take a more detailed look at the advantages of employing this prominent library and a list of top 10 websites that use React JS, so you can view specific examples. HOW DOES REACT JS WORK? The library was created by the Facebook team as a tool to provide high-performance UI solutions. At its core lies an extraordinary page rendering mechanism, which allows all the content to refresh immediately in response to user actions.  From a technical point of view, the creators' ultimate goal for React JS was to keep code from "attaching" to data flow every time and, instead, to start defining interface d
Why to perform drive testing and what are the types of drive testing in mobile network?  Transform any Android smartphone into mobile network testing tools to identify primary user experience (QoE) issues such as zones with no network coverage, dropped calls, low data speeds, poor video user experience and high latency etc. Perform Voice call, SMS, upload and download speed tests, HTTP, cell availability, video streaming using RantCell app and get KPIs reports. For example; 4G LTE speed test, VoLTE test, CSFB, SRVCC KPIs. For data sheet on KPIs and Network parameters. Voice and Data services are the basic service for any carriers in the mobile network so drive test is the best possible solution in the telecom industry in order to collect signal strength, mobile network latency of the network. Drive test is conducted for checking coverage and quality of the cellular network signal, mobile network latency, voice/data services, user QoE and check the performan
Do you have a devil-may-care attitude when it comes to removing USB sticks and hard drives, preferring to pull them straight out of a PC rather than ‘ejecting’ them? Soon, you won’t have to worry about the possibility of corrupted files, as Windows will allow you to remove storage devices at any time. We’ve long been warned that failing to use the ‘Safely Remove Hardware’ process before pulling out a USB device such as a flash drive (pendrive), thumb drive, and Thunderbolt-enabled external drive could cause data loss, corruption, or even mechanical damage. But Microsoft has announced that this won’t be the case starting with Windows version 1809. The default policy for current versions of Windows is to use the ‘Better Performance’ option, where Windows can cache write operations to the external device, increasing the speed of data transfers. Using the Safely Remove Hardware icon makes sure all cached operations finish, thereby protecting your data when removing a
